Becoming a teenager is about moving from one stage of life to the next. It is a process that involves about 7 years, is complicated by the preceding 12 years, and will shape the remainder of your years. It is a time of rapid change. Some changes are welcomed, like boys growing taller. Others, like zits, are just a pain. Teen years open up new loves and hurts. Becoming and being a follower of Christ isn’t so different than being a teenager. It can be complicated and messy, with indescribable joy that frees you to move forward. As Spiderman’s grandma says, “with great power comes great responsibility.” Or better yet, as Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life.” Do you want your life… significant life? Do you want to connect with others who are desiring to have a significant relationship with Christ and live it relevantly in our culture? It’s not about having it all figured out, it’s about trying to do what Jesus did…love the people around him. If that is something that you want to experience then you will want to discover some more about our youth ministries by clicking the following links.
Our 7th-8th grade group, which we call “Powerline”.

The 9th -12th grade ministry known as “Eyewitness”.

Parents
Our youth ministries include 7th-12th grades, but honestly we are here for the whole family. We are an ally for the parents, a mentor to the students, and mediator between the two if necessary. We operate off of three simple principles: Connecting, Belonging, and Growing. Connecting is about building bridges from one person to another. Belonging is about developing a safe environment where people can be challenged and supported. Growing is about doing things that stretch us beyond what we already know and understand.

Studies still show that parents are the number one influence in a child/teenagers life. Youth leaders make the top 10 sometimes. Unless your child came with an instructional manual at birth, we understand that you are also moving into uncharted territory. We have parent resources to help in the process of moving your child from teen to adult. Just like your teen, there will be days filled with joy and days filled with...well, something less than joy. We will do our best to help you engage with your teen, other teen parents, and the youth ministry. We need you, and you need us. It's a symbiotic relationship; the Holy Spirit empowers each of us and through relationship each of us are able to support the other. Healthy families build healthy churches, healthy churches build healthy families.

Here's something we are doing together...

As a youth group we sponsor a a boy in Honduras.  His name is Marvin, affectionately called "Starvin Marvin". Marvin will be 3 years old soon. Several of our stundent give $2.00 a month to support Mavin and the community he lives.  It isn't a huge committment (to give up one large drink a month), but the impact is enormous.  Our gift provides food, health care, and educational opportunities for children & adults where he lives.

Some day we would like to take a trip to visit Marvin and his community.
